AIRCRAFT PART: BAE146 EXHAUST CONE

Standing over 6ft tall and taking inspiration from the A.E Cremer Parisian lights of the 1950s, this piece exudes character and personality. The head undergoes a process of sanding, polishing and heating to create a sea of blues, golds, and purples that radiate from the remarkable exhaust cone light head of this unique piece. The polished stainless steel stand has been designed and manufactured from the ground up, carefully blending minimalism and functionality whilst the Italian holophane glass radiates a warm glow.

Considerations

– To care for your polished aluminium, we suggest keeping it clean with a dry dust cloth.
– Metals will dull and develop a patina over time, nothing a bit of polish and elbow grease wont fix, for more information, feel free to get in touch.

MADE FROM PLANE

Once we salvage the nose cone from a retired BAE 146 aircraft, it goes through a rigorous sanding, polishing and finishing process to achieve the sea of colours and patina on the lampshade. Having designed a totally bespoke stainless steel stand we get to work on fabricating it through numerous processes including water jet cutting, tube bending and welding.

RAINBOW

These exhaust cones are made from titanium. After numerous attempts, we finally managed to achieve the beautiful sea of colours that each lamp has. We have to put the each cone through a rigorous sanding and polishing process before we heat it up and the colours start to develop.
