BOLT CUFFLINKS

AIRCRAFT PART: 12 POINT BOLT

From holding an aircraft together at 30,000 feet to doing the same for your shirt cuffs on the ground. Each bolt is cut and prepped before being machined down on a CNC lathe. Drilled and coupled with a bespoke collar, each bolt is then plated and polished by hand. Made entirely in our workshop in the heart of the British countryside, these cufflinks have a fascinating story and unique design.

CUT

After cleaning the bolt thoroughly, we cut the thread off with a grinder, ready for the bolt to be machined back on a CNC lathe. Once this process is complete we machine a bespoke fitting that acts as the second half of the cufflink on the same lathe.

CNC MACHINING

Once the bolt head has been skimmed back on the lathe, we drill a hole in the middle of the bolt ready to press-fit a bespoke collar. At the stage the cufflink is complete and ready for the plating process.

PLATE, POLISH, AND SHINE

After assembly, each bolt goes off to be nickel plated, upon return the cufflinks are ready for polishing in the workshop. We meticulously buff and shine each cufflink on a sisal wheel prior to packaging and shipping to their new home.
